Well we are back from WV (pictures to follow later) and it seemed like it was a very long trip. Chris, Thayer and I got home yesterday at about 10:00AM - which I very much enjoyed having the afternoon at home and to putter around the house, do laundry and the whats-nots that you do when you return home. lately, I have been doing these things when it is 2:00AM after the family had been stuck in an airport all day.
During the trip you could tell that everyone was a bit moody at the end - we wanted to be home, Thayer wanted his own bed and Jenn and Brad wanted their home back. I think that maybe a full week was too long and next time we will stick to 4-5 days....before the fish starts to stink. Jenn is a wonderful mom and even though she was completely tired AND recovering from her C-section, she was a lovely hostess. Seeing Dad was brilliant and it seems that Thayer's first words might be "grandpa" - but will see. Mom and James came over a few days when they were not having to work and they even gave Thayer his first trikie for his birthday.

Did I forget to mention that we had 2 birthdays while we were there. Dad turned 52 on Tuesday and Thayer turned the big ole ONE on Friday. Thayer had cake twice - once with Grandma and James and once with the rest of the family. Ummm, yea...sugar is no good! That little boy would just stand up and squeal for about 2 hours straight as loud as he could, then he would laugh b/c it was funny to him to see us all plug our ears. I told my mom that he was really tiring with being everywhere all the time and she said wait until he walks really well - which the family thinks is about a month away. My friend Jenny's baby is a little over a month older than Thayer and is starting to walk - it looks like a very exciting time and I just can't wait to see our little man doing the same.

We have Thayer's first birthday party for family and friends in Austin this weekend at the house and that will make a total of three parties for little man's first birthday. I am going today at lunch to buy his birthday presents and I just can't decide what to get him. Chris and I were thinking about this work bench and tools at Target, but I need to check the age approval range of it. Babyzone.com said that the best gifts for 12-18 months are kitchens and work benches...do like mommy and daddy do...so we will see!
Just a little blasty blast from the past...I do not know where this year went! Here that silly ole T Dog (as Auntie Jenny calls him) from a full year ago! Good grief, that was officially the FASTEST year of my life!
